TAS MIDHURST CELEBRATES THE ARTS SOCIETY JUBILEE

120 members of TAS Midhurst celebrated the 50th anniversary of the national society last month with an evening reception at Capron House, including speeches and music from local groups, notably the brass band of Midhurst Primary School. Jilly Moss, a local member and national Trustee recounted the remarkable story of Patricia Fay, who founded The Chiltern Antiques Group in 1965, the forerunner of the 360 UK and worldwide societies of NADFAS (National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies), recently renamed as The Arts Society. The event was reported in the Midhurst and Petworth Observer. The somewhat fuzzy press cutting can be seen here.
